The 22-year-old had also excelled academically as a cadet at West Point – The United States Military Academy. The commandant of West Point honoured him as the best squad leader during a field training exercise for the Academy’s Class of 2021. 


The Taiping boy plans to serve as an infantryman in Malaysia’s 8th Rangers of the Royal Ranger Regiment or in the Malaysian Army Aviation.
